Ryedale District Council to run another job fair with Job Centre after success of inaugural event
Ryedale District Council is once again teaming up with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to run the Ryedale job fair.
The event will take place on Wednesday May 11 at the Milton Rooms in Malton from 11am until 1pm.
Employers with vacancies they would like to find the perfect candidate for are invited to contact the council to reserve space at the event.
Enquiries should be directed to email@example.com.
The inaugural job fair, which was held last November, attracted over 100 visitors and saw several walk away with jobs on the day.
Follow-up interviews with other candidates were also organised after the event.
For small and micro businesses who may not have capacity to leave their businesses to attend the event, Ryedale District Council will be running a stand to raise awareness of vacant positions.
Phillip Spurr, Programme Director of Place and Resources for Ryedale District Council, said: “The event we ran last year was a great success and we have built on it to make sure this one will be even better.
“There is a wide variety of talent in Ryedale and the job fair is an opportunity to connect the right candidate with employers.
“It is the council’s vision that Ryedale has a strong economy with jobs linked to growing industries such as engineering, manufacturing, tourism, food and drink and farming. Hosting job fairs is one of the ways we’re working towards this vision.”
