Free parking in Ryedale District Council car parks

Ryedale District Council offers festive car parking extension to permit holders

Ryedale District Council is offering all of its car parking permit holders a festive extension to their paid permits.

The news comes off the back of the announcement that all Ryedale District Council car parks are now free until 31 March 2021.

The Car Parking Permit Extension Scheme will see permits extended to allow for the period of time free car parking is being offered.

Councillor Keane Duncan, Leader of Ryedale District Council said:

“This is yet another example of Ryedale District Council supporting lives and livelihoods throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s only right that residents who have already paid for parking permits in our district council’s car parks enjoy an extension. We hope that it helps our citizens shop safely and locally.

“As there is no time limit on the free parking, we hope that people will be responsible and only park for as long as they need, so that we can bring as much trade as possible to our towns and help the local economy get back on its feet.”

Applications can be made by going to and completing the Parking Permit Extension Form.  Upon receipt of a fully completed form a new permit will be issued within 28 days.
