Job Fair 2 PRGloo

Job seekers invited to Ryedale job fair in Malton hosted by Ryedale District Council and Job Centre

Those in Ryedale looking for a job or a career change, are invited to find out about vacancies across a variety of industries in the district at the Ryedale job fair.

The event will take place on Wednesday May 11 at the Milton Rooms in Malton from 11am until 1pm.

The Council is working with the Job Centre to connect employers with exciting opportunities with the right candidate.

The first job fair held by the council last November attracted over 100 visitors, several of whom were offered jobs then and there.

Follow-up interviews with other candidates were also organised after the event.

Employers attending the job fair represent a wide variety of industries including engineering, health and social care and manufacturing.

Roles on offer will cover full time, part time and family-friendly working hours.

Phillip Spurr, Programme Director of Place and Resources for Ryedale District Council, said: “At our event last year it was really encouraging to see people getting job offers on the day.

“We have built on the success of that event to make sure this one will be even better.

“It is the council’s vision that Ryedale has a strong economy with jobs linked to growing industries such as engineering, manufacturing, tourism, food and drink and farming. Hosting job fairs is one of the ways we’re working towards this vision.

“If you’re seeking a new role, considering a job change or looking to get back into work I would encourage you to attend the event to find out what is on offer and have a chat with the employers recruiting.”

Anyone interested in attending the job fair to learn more about available vacancies is welcome to turn up on the day, no prior registration is necessary.

Any employers with vacancies they would like to find the perfect candidate for are invited to contact the council to enquire about any remaining spaces at the event. Enquiries should be directed to

For small and micro business owners who may not have capacity to leave their businesses to attend the event, Ryedale District Council will be running a stand to raise awareness of vacant positions.
