Household Canvass of Electors set to start
Ryedale District Council will shortly be undertaking a household canvass across the area.
Every year, the district council must check the details of everyone registered to vote in households across Ryedale, to ensure the information held is up-to-date. This will happen between July and October.
Communications will be going out to all households soon and residents are being asked to read it carefully, follow the guidance and respond to Ryedale District Council as promptly as possible, where required.
Stacey Burlet, Ryedale’s Electoral Registration Officer, said: "We need to make sure that our electoral register records are correct. Being registered to vote gives you the right to participate at elections and referendums and could also improve your credit rating."
