Cropton District Ward by-election Thursday 18 November
On Thursday 18 November citizens in the Cropton Ward will go to the polls in a by-election. Ryedale District Council is putting arrangements in place to keep the elections COVID-safe.
Stacey Burlet, Ryedale’s Returning Officer, said:
“This is an important by-election for Ryedale and we’re using our experience to run a COVID-safe election.”
“You can participate safely in a number of ways - by post if you have already registered for this, in person or by proxy."
"If you want to vote by post – the deadline for new voter applications of postal votes has now passed so you must already have this in place."
"If you want to vote in person - we’re putting arrangements in place to help you stay safe at the polling station. You can expect many of the measures you’ve become used to in shops and banks over recent months, such as hand sanitiser, floor markings and face masks.”
If after 5pm on Wednesday 10 November you are unable to vote in person because of a medical emergency/work reasons, you can vote by emergency proxy - completed applications must reach Ryedale District Council before 5pm on Thursday 18 November.
